Hello and Mabuhay!
Thank you for dropping by.

My name is Alvin Gale Tan. Allow me to quickly share what this website is all about…

7107 is the Philippines’ official number of islands. Pinas is the “nickname” of Pilipinas, and the logo you see on the banner means:

Love Pinas!

This project’s ultimate goal is to accumulate “7107 Reasons to Love Pinas”. Literally, 7107 different reasons!

From big stuff like Lupang Hinirang to Dr. Jose Rizal to jeepneys to dirty ice cream (yummy!). From the popular to the obscure, and everything in between, the reasons will be listed in no particular order.

The rationale behind it is: the more reasons we have to love our motherland, the more we’ll appreciate and take care of her. Does that make sense? Yes, it does! =D

This won’t be an online encyclopedia of facts because they’re readily available all over the Internet. Instead, this will be a collection of your photos, stories, and anecdotes… displayed at random. This means that each time you load the website, a different set of reasons will appear.

Pinoys who care – wherever you are in the world – are encouraged to contribute to this ambitious collaborative project. Everything you say can and will be used… with your permission.

So, please feel free to look around, and hopefully, share what you think. I’m looking forward to hearing, er, reading from you.

    Hi Alvin,

Help me include Pila, Laguna in your network.

“I discovered that Pila, Laguna is more than just the Vigan of the South. Experiencing the place was like being in a time machine. For a second there I thought a Spanish Guardia Civil would suddenly appear from one of the Spanish Colonial Period houses.”

  3. [...] A few minutes past 10, Boom finally came and we went over the subject. A couple of minutes later, Alvin Tan arrived. I’d say both of them did a good job of calming my nerves. Seriously! It’s not everyday [...]

    Hi Alvin,

As I promised, before the 2010 ends I will contribute something in your remarkable website. I love Pinas because of Marikina shoes which a pair is one of the most durable footwear in the planet. I hope you’ll agree.

I was born from Pasig and has been a resident of the city all my life but I consider the nearby Shoe Capital of the Philippines as one of my favorite places because it brings great memories and good pair of shoes, of course.

I even blogged about Marikina (and the shoes) early this year. Here’s the link:

Happy new year to you and your family, bro!
